An African Safari is within Reach

I’ve had the opportunity to hunt over 33 trophies in Africa, and it remains one of my favorite hunting destinations in the world. As someone who never wants hunting season to end, Africa offers an experience unlike anything we have in North America. The abundance of wildlife and incredible variety of species allow hunters to stay in the field day after day, creating an unforgettable safari experience.

Many hunters are surprised to learn that an African safari can be far more affordable than they expected. There are excellent plains game packages available that include multiple species and a full week of hunting at very reasonable prices. Whether it’s your first safari or another trip back to Africa, there are options available for a wide range of budgets and hunting goals.

Africa is also one of the best hunting trips to share with your wife or significant other. Non-hunters can ride along on the safari and experience the excitement of seeing incredible wildlife up close, or simply relax and enjoy the beautiful lodges, scenery, and local attractions while you hunt. My wife joins me on every safari, and she still says it was the best vacation she’s ever taken.

The prime hunting season in Africa runs from April through October, making it a perfect opportunity to hunt during the offseason without interfering with whitetail season back home. Mornings are typically cool, with daytime temperatures ranging from the 60s to 80s depending on the time of year and location.

If you’ve ever dreamed about hunting Africa, I strongly encourage you to explore the opportunity. It’s an experience every hunter should have at least once—and most who go once can’t wait to return.
