Sable Hunt in Oklahoma
Experience the pinnacle of exotic big-game hunting with a 3-day guided trophy Sable hunt in the heart of Oklahoma. Widely considered one of the most beautiful and prestigious antelope species in the world, the African Sable offers an unforgettable challenge. You can skip the long flight to Africa, and instead pursue this magnificent creature across a sprawling private ranch right here in the USA. This outfitter offers world-class accommodations, excellent local guides, and exceptional success rates.
Sable are renowned for their aggressive nature, keen senses, and striking jet-black coats contrasted by vivid white facial markings. Both bulls and cows sport massive, heavily ringed horns that sweep majestically backward, making a mature sable one of the most visually stunning additions possible to any trophy collection. Because these animals are exceptionally tough and alert, hunting strategies often involve a choice between a spot-and-stalk approach or waiting from a strategically placed elevated blind.
My personal experience hunting with this outfitter was exceptional, and I highly recommend hunting with them!

After a full day of adventure, you will return to a superb dinner with a rotating showcase of premium entrees, featuring juicy steaks, perfectly prepared salmon, slow-roasted prime rib, and authentic, wood-smoked brisket that melts in your mouth. You will definitely not go hungry and will likely be planning your return trip before you even unpack.
Weapons for this Hunt
A .30-caliber magnum rifle is highly recommended for hunting sable. Sable are large, powerful, and notoriously aggressive when cornered or wounded. They have thick hides, heavy muscle, and a strong will to live, meaning you need a cartridge that delivers deep penetration and excellent knockdown power.
Hunting Season
The best time to hunt Sable in Oklahoma is from October through April. By October, fall has set in and the foliage thins out vastly improving your ability to glass open meadows, track movements, and spot a sable’s distinctive jet-black coat. With cooler daytime temperatures during these months, the Sable will be moving around and grazing more. The cooler months will make the hunt more comfortable and enjoyable for you also.
Hunting Environment
From the fabulous lodge to the mild Oklahoma weather, hunting the Sable will be a great experience. Unlike the extreme temperature swings found further north, Oklahoma’s hunting season offers comfortable, crisp mornings and temperate afternoons that allow you to stay in the field longer without battling the elements. On the occasional rainy day, you can hunt from the elevated blinds and have an enjoyable hunt staying nice and dry.

Will Rogers World Airport (OKC) in Oklahoma City is the closest major airport to the lodge, located just over an hour away. However, many of the hunters prefer to drive to the lodge.
