Accommodations

Hunting Lodge

The sprawling, premium lodge is impressive with its towering cathedral ceilings and 4,500 sq. ft. great room. On a cool night, relax by a roaring fireplace, or kick back on the cozy couches and watch the large-screen TV. When the hunt ends, the entertainment begins: fire up the golf simulator, shuffle the cards at the poker table, or challenge your group to pool, ping-pong, and cornhole.

Bedrooms

Whether you are hunting solo or with a big group, the lodge will comfortably sleep the whole group. It boasts 12 private bedrooms with queen bed and full ensuite bathrooms plus two spacious bunkrooms. Most of the guest rooms are arranged with a private outside entrance to offer privacy if desired. So get your friends together for an epic hunt in Oklahoma.

Food

The meals served at the lodge are fresh, abundant, and just as legendary as the hunt. Each morning begins with a hearty, fuel-packed breakfast designed to power you through the crisp morning air and keep you sharp in the field. After a full day of adventure, you will return to a superb dinner with a rotating showcase of premium entrees, featuring juicy steaks, perfectly prepared salmon, slow-roasted prime rib, and authentic, wood-smoked brisket that melts in your mouth. Between the top-notch hunting, the premium accommodations, and the delicious food, this hunting trip will be truly memorable. You will definitely not go hungry and will likely be planning your return trip before you even unpack.

Weapons for this Hunt

For hunting a mature Cape Eland, you should use a .30-caliber magnum rifle or larger. Because an eland is the largest antelope on earth, they have an incredibly thick skeletal structure and dense muscle mass. The Eland hunt requires a rifle carrying immense knockdown power and deep penetration.

Hunting Season

Eland are classified as an exotic species in Oklahoma, so they can be hunted year-round on private land. Booking your hunting trip between September and March is considered the prime time for this hunt. The cooler autumn and winter months keep these heavy-bodied giants actively moving throughout the day in search of food, while the dropped foliage drastically improves visibility for glassing across the terrain.

Hunting Environment

From the fabulous lodge to the mild Oklahoma weather, hunting the Eland will be a great experience. Unlike the extreme temperature swings found further north, Oklahoma’s hunting season offers comfortable, crisp mornings and temperate afternoons that allow you to stay in the field longer without battling the elements. On the occasional rainy day, you can hunt from the elevated blinds and have an enjoyable hunt staying nice and dry.
