About the Scimbok Antelope

General Information

The Scimbok is a unique, highly sought-after hybrid antelope created by crossing a Gemsbok Oryx with a Scimitar-Horned Oryx. Primarily found on private game ranches in Texas, this intentionally bred exotic species combines the best physical characteristics of both parent lineages, resulting in a distinctly beautiful and massive animal.

Physically, the Scimbok inherits the robust, heavy-bodied frame and the dramatic, long, straight horns of the Gemsbok. However, it takes on the elegant, sandy-tan to rich golden-brown coat and striking white underbelly and legs of the Scimitar-Horned Oryx. This striking contrast gives the hybrid a regal, distinctly African appearance. Their impressive, ridged horns can grow to well over 40 inches in length, making them a highly prized trophy.
