Each morning begins with a hearty, fuel-packed breakfast designed to power you through the crisp morning air and keep you sharp in the field. After a full day of adventure, you will return to a superb dinner with a rotating showcase of premium entrees, featuring juicy steaks, perfectly prepared salmon, slow-roasted prime rib, and authentic, wood-smoked brisket that melts in your mouth. Between the top-notch hunting, the premium accommodations, and the delicious food, this hunting trip will be truly memorable. You will definitely not go hungry and will likely be planning your return trip before you even unpack.
Weapons for this Hunt
Any long range cartridge from 6.5mm up to any of the .30 caliber rifles will work great. They deliver massive knockdown power and fly flat, which is essential when pursuing a hardy animal with dense bones and a strong hide.
Hunting Season
The Addax is classified as an exotic species in Oklahoma which allows them to be hunted year-round on private ranches. However, the most ideal and comfortable time to hunt addax is during the late fall and winter months, spanning from October through March. During these cooler months, the thick brush opens up after the autumn foliage drops, drastically improving the visibility for glassing and tracking. The mature bulls are moving more frequently throughout the day in search of food.
Hunting Environment
From the fabulous lodge to the mild Oklahoma weather, hunting the Addax will be a great experience. Unlike the extreme temperature swings found further north, Oklahoma’s hunting season offers comfortable, crisp mornings and temperate afternoons that allow you to stay in the field longer without battling the elements. On the occasional rainy day, you can hunt from the elevated blinds and have an enjoyable hunt staying nice and dry.
