Typical Day Hog Hunting
Your day kicks off at first light. You’ll be locked and loaded in the blinds, breathing in the crisp morning air as the feeders go off and the hogs move in. Once the morning rush subsides, head back to the premier lodge to fuel up on a huge, chef-prepared breakfast. Next, it’s time for a challenging walk-and-stalk hunt. You’ll traverse rugged creeks, canyons, heavy timber, and wide-open plains, tracking hogs through the beautiful Oklahoma valleys. After testing your boots, a delicious lunch awaits, followed by total freedom to unwind. Spend your afternoon relaxing at the lodge, shooting at the rifle range, or dialing in your lead during a fun skeet competition. A few hours before dark, you’ll gear back up and head to the blinds for a high-action late afternoon hunt. Back at the lodge you will enjoy a hearty, savory dinner.

Weapons for this Hunt
The best rifle for hog hunting is anything from a 6.5mm up to any of the .30 caliber rifles. Though, a bolt action rifle is often used, AR styled rifles are very popular and effective. Because feral hogs are thick-skinned, muscular, and have a dense shoulder plate, you need a caliber with excellent penetration and knockdown power.
Hunting Season
The best time for hog hunting is September through March. With the cooler Fall and Winter temperatures, the hogs move more. The hunt is also much more comfortable for the hunter.
Hunting Environment
From the fabulous lodge to the mild Oklahoma weather, hunting hogs will be a great experience. Unlike the extreme temperature swings found further north, Oklahoma’s hunting season offers comfortable, crisp mornings and temperate afternoons that allow you to stay in the field longer without battling the elements. On the occasional rainy day, you can hunt from the elevated blinds and have an enjoyable hunt staying nice and dry.
