Weapons for this Hunt

Any long range cartridge from .243 win up to any of the .30 caliber rifles will work great.

Hunting Season

Hawaiian Black sheep can be hunted year-round on private land because they are classified as an exotic species in Oklahoma. However, booking your trip between September and March offers the best experience. The cooler autumn and winter months keep these hardy rams active throughout the day, while the dropped foliage vastly improves visibility across the ranch.

Hunting Environment

From the fabulous lodge to the mild Oklahoma weather, hunting the Hawaiian Black Sheep will be a great experience. Unlike the extreme temperature swings found further north, Oklahoma’s hunting season offers comfortable, crisp mornings and temperate afternoons that allow you to stay in the field longer without battling the elements. On the occasional rainy day, you can hunt from the elevated blinds and have an enjoyable hunt staying nice and dry.

Average Temperatures in Oklahoma

Will Rogers World Airport (OKC) in Oklahoma City is the closest major airport to the lodge, located just over an hour away. However, many of the hunters prefer to drive to the lodge. Driving allows you to easily transport your frozen meat, cape, and horns back to your home and your own taxidermist
